Klein Family Scholarship Ösztöndíj az Egyesült Államokba
Az Institute of International Education (IIE) Európai Iroda az Egyesült Államok-beli Sewanee: The University of the South felkérésére örömmel értesiti a magyar középiskolák kiemelkedő tanulmányi eredménnyel rendelkező végzős tanulóit az alábbi ösztöndíjlehetőségről.
Az ösztöndíj egy magyar, a középiskolai tanulmányait a 2010-2011. tanévben befejező diák számára nyújt teljes anyagi támogatást a Bachelor képzés időtartamára, mely általában 4 év.
Az egyetem székhelye Sewanee, mely Tennessee államban található. Az intézmény, bár itthon kevéssé ismert, igen színvonalas, az amerikai "liberal arts" filozófián alapuló képzést és tanulási feltételeket nyújt (honlapjuk: www.sewanee.edu).
A pályázás első szakaszában az IIE egy előszelekció során 4 - 5 ígéretes pályázót választ ki. Ezt követően a Sewanee Egyetem felvételi osztálya választja ki az IIE jelöltjei közül a végső nyertest az intézmény saját felvételi követelményei alapján.
Az előpályázatok benyújtását olyan diákoktól várjuk, akik megfelelnek az angol nyelvű pályázati kiírásban szereplő követelményeknek.
Az előpályázatok beérkezési határideje: 2010. december 15. Minden pályázati anyagot angol nyelven, 3 eredeti példányban kérünk eljuttatni az IIE Európai Irodájához az alábbi címre:

The events are going to be centered around a photo exhibition showing pictures from our most important events of the past years. The opening ceremony is scheduled by
16.00 pm, Wednesday, September 15, 2010.
Other planned programs may include an EducationUSA Road Show (Tue., Sep. 14), a fun theatre evening in cooperation with The Turkey Theatre Troupe (Thu., Sep. 16), several outreach events, birthday clubs, quizzes and prizes.

A győztes csapat nemcsak a veszprémi forduló legjobbja lesz, hanem bejut az augusztusi siófoki

Az egész napos sportprogram külön érdekessége lesz az a rangadó, ahol a város neves sportolói,

-His research interests focus upon the area of cultural globalization - with particular reference to music, art & design.
-He has published in a range of journals. His article on global popular music in the 21st century was awarded the Stone-Suderman Prize by the Mid-Western American Studies Association.

Kerekasztal beszélgetés a "Fekete Történelem" témájában
Február 25-én, csütörtökön 16.00 órától egy rendhagyó kerekasztal beszélgetésre invitálunk minden kedves érdeklődőt. Az átfogó témakörön, az afrikai-amerikaiak történelmén belül rendkívül érdekes és provokatív témákban hallgathatjuk meg és kérdezhetjük szakértőinket.

Movie and Pizza Night From 18:00 Every Last Wednesday of the Month

This term we are screening movies dealing with the topic of 'Black America' on our monthly Movie and Pizza Nights. Come and join us next Wednesday at 18.00 to watch and discuss the first must-see blockbuster.
Attendance is free. Pizza comes from one of the best restaurants in town. Everybody interested is welcome. Do not forget to register to this movie at veszprem@americancorner.hu .
