The Institute of International Education’s European Office (IIE) and Sewanee: The University of the South are pleased to announce the Klein Family Scholarship available to Hungarian high school students for a 4-year full scholarship to receive a Bachelor’s Degree at Sewanee: The University of the South, a national liberal arts university with an outstanding undergraduate College of Arts and Sciences, located in the state of Tennessee in the United States (

The Klein Family Scholarship has been established with gifts by and in memory of the late Ms. Linda Klein, who was of Hungarian descent, for deserving students from Hungary. The Klein Family Scholarship covers the cost of tuition, room, board, and fees (approximately $50,000 annually). The scholarship is renewable for the full four years of study. The award will cover all direct costs of attendance. A recipient should, however, budget approximately $4,000 of their own funds annually for books, health insurance, personal expenses, some taxes, etc. The University will not be responsible for travel or visa application costs.

Klein Family Scholarships were awarded from 2007-2016 to Hungarian students who have recently completed or are currently pursuing their studies at Sewanee: The University of the South.
